Tobacco is a product prepared from the leaves of the tobacco plant by curing them. The plant is part of the genus Nicotiana and of the Solanaceae (nightshade) family. While more than 70 species of tobacco are known, the chief commercial crop is N. tabacum. The more potent variant N. rustica is also used around the world.
Tobacco is the major content in cigarette. I mean your regular Dorchester, Kent, marlboro, camel, etc.
What does tobacco contain?
Tobacco is known to have over 600 ingredients and when burned, they produce over 7000 chemicals. Some of them haven't even been assayed yet. However 69chemicals from tobacco are known to be cancerous.Here are a few of the chemicals in tobacco smoke and other places they are found:
• Acetone – found in nail polish remover
• Acetic Acid – an ingredient in hair dye
• Ammonia – a common household cleaner
• Arsenic – used in rat poison
• Benzene – found in rubber cement
• Butane – used in lighter fluid
• Cadmium – active component in battery acid
• Carbon Monoxide – released in car exhaust fumes
• Formaldehyde – embalming fluid
• Hexamine – found in barbecue lighter fluid
• Lead – used in batteries
• Naphthalene – an ingredient in mothballs
• Methanol – a main component in rocket fuel
• Nicotine – used as insecticide
• Tar – material for paving roads
• Toluene - used to manufacture paint
What are the effects of smoking tobacco cigarettes on Health??
1. Smoking tobacco is highly addictive and withdrawal is pretty much difficult mate🤦🏾
2. Smoking tobacco cigarettes is known to cause different types of cancer.
3. It causes damages to your respiratory tract, lungs, Heart, kidney, liver, stomach, pancreas, etc. 🙆🏾🙆🏾.
4. Women who smoke tobacco find it difficult to conceive/get pregnant.
5. Men who smoke tobacco are at high risk or Erectile dysfunction.
Note: There is no "safe" smoking level for tobacco or safe tobacco products.
