Networking: A good name turned Sour: The misconception about networking

Networking: A good name turned Sour

Networking (not computer based) has been thought to be a bad venture to embark on, because of the pains that some proposed networking sites has caused to Nigerians. It's been a heart breaking experience, from MMM to somapay and springcash 😂😂 (I was a victim too, I won't lie). But then do you know you network everyday?? Let me give you an example, You buy a nice shirt from a boutique, the first day you appear at work with it, everyone admired it and your friend asked you how to get it, and you "refer" him to that boutique, that's networking right there! You just got one referral! Imagine the countless number of stuff you sold via networking, without making any penny.

What is 'Networking'
Networking is a process that fosters the exchange of information and ideas among individuals or groups that share a common interest. It may be for social or business purposes. Professionals connect their business network through a series of symbolic ties and contacts. Business connections may form due to an individual's education, employer, industry or colleagues.

Networking helps to develop professional relationships that may boost an individual’s future business and employment prospects.

Types of 'Networking'
• Business Networking: Here business associate share information between each other, could range from new ideas to employment opportunities, etc.

• Online Networking: This is a larger market where we have millions of people who are directly or indirectly involved. Sites like amazon, Jumia, konga, etc are examples of online marketing sites which utilize networking.

• Computer Networking: This is basically connecting two or more computer/smart devices to one another. It could be a local network or worldwide network.
