Pharmacy Struggle: A tale of my encounter with a client in the community pharmacy

*Pharmacy Struggle*
Good morning pharmily! Hope your night was great? Mine was fabulous! Please, have something to eat as breakfast. It's good for your health and vitality!
My pharm_tale today is about a certain young man who I encountered in one of my per-time jobs.

Now, we all know that drugs take time to "work" abi? That it's not something magical?
This dude apparently doesn't agree with that fact oh! He came in with a prescription that contained drugs for peptic ulcer (he was earlier diagnosed of it). I gave him the drugs and recommended some others; which he took but kept on telling me to reassure him that he is going to be 'healed' (healed kwa brother?! I don't even have long hair sef! How can you confuse me for the biblical Jesus?!). Well, I told him he would be fine if he kept taking the meds judiciously.

Skrrrrrr kpa!(sound of the door)...Barely one hour later, Oga came back saying that he is still perceiving the same symptoms! That the drugs might not be 'working'. Ah bros! Why are you like this now?! This thing is not magic something oh! It takes sometime, ehn? Just chill for some days, OK?
He was barely convinced and reluctantly left.😌

Please guys, meds 💊 are not magical pills. They take time to elicit their effect and the length of time differs from drug to drug. Just be patient and take them judiciously!
Thanks for the read😘😘😘

  5. Lol... As funny as this is, let me go deep.
I think it's actually serious problem... Now or never mentality. It's even more sad when people are willing to sell their future for a piece of "now". Plants don't spring up the night after they're planted. We understand this fact, that's why we don't give up on them when they don't sprout after two days of planting. Why can't we take the same principle elsewhere?
Yours sincerely... My overly serious self 😂😂😂

  8. Most times these are challenges we as pharmacist run into often. yesterday I met a man who has had an infection on his head for 2 years he walks in tells me he is going to see his future wife for the first time tomorrow and he wants the (craw craw) gone!!! before then i giggled and i said something you've had for 2 years you now want it magically gone by tomorrow??? i clearly told him it wasn't possible,I gave him a full course antibiotic and a cream and I advised him if he takes his meds religiously he should see improvement in a week .Finally i believe patience is key in everything !!! Drugs are Not African JuJu
